Personal identification information
We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.
Non-personal identification information
We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.
Web browser cookies
Our Site may use "cookies" to enhance User experience. User's web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.
What we store and for how long
- Downloading. You don't need an account to download, and we never ask for your social media passwords. The links you paste are sent to our servers only to fetch the media you asked for.
- Cached files. Some downloaded files are cached so repeat downloads are faster. Cached copies are deleted automatically within 2 days.
- Failed downloads. When a link fails to download, we keep the link, the error, your approximate country and city, and your browser type for 30 days so we can fix the problem. Your IP address is not stored with it.
- IP addresses. We use your IP address to apply rate limits and the daily limit on full-length YouTube videos. These counters expire within 24 hours. Our hosting providers, Vercel, Railway and Cloudflare, also keep short-lived server logs that include IP addresses.
- Usage statistics. We count visits and downloads per day and per platform, and which websites send us visitors. These counts are not linked to you. We also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies.
- Accounts. If you sign in with email or Google, we store your email address, your language, and the dates you signed up and last visited. From Google we receive only your email address. When you request an email sign-in link, the request, including the IP address that made it, is cleaned up automatically after the link expires or is used.
- Your library. When you save a post, with or without signing in, we store its link, title, author, caption and thumbnail, any notes and tags you add, and, where the platform allows it, a copy of the media. Without an account, your library is tied to an anonymous cookie on your device. Removing an item hides it straight away and erases it, with its notes, tags and stored copy, within about a week. If someone else saved the same post, the shared copy stays in their library. To have your account erased, email contact@snapdown.in.
- Cookies we set. A security token that shows requests come from our site, which expires after 24 hours; a daily visit marker, which expires after 48 hours; a sign-in cookie, which lasts 30 days from your last visit; a guest library cookie, which lasts 1 year; and a short-lived cookie during Google sign-in.
- We never sell your data. We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with advertisers.
Advertising
Ads appearing on our site may be delivered to Users by advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile non personal identification information about you or others who use your computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This privacy policy does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.
Our Advertising Partners
Ads on this Site are served by Adsterra and Monetag, third-party advertising networks. They and their advertisers may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Monetag also provides the code that delivers browser notifications to visitors who choose to allow them. We do not share your name, email address or other personal information with either network. You can read how they handle data at adsterra.com/privacy-policy and monetag.com/privacy.
