SnapDown is a free utility that helps people save publicly available social media content for personal, offline viewing — for example keeping a copy of your own posts, archiving content you appear in, or saving material with the creator's permission. It is not intended for piracy, re-posting, or any commercial exploitation of other people's work.
You are responsible for how you use downloads
All content you download through SnapDown belongs to its original creator or rights holder. By using this service you agree that you are solely responsible for ensuring your use complies with copyright law and the terms of service of the source platform. Re-uploading someone else's content without permission may infringe their rights. When in doubt, ask the creator first and always give credit.
No affiliation with any platform
SnapDown is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram, Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Google, X (Twitter), Pinterest, LinkedIn, or any other platform mentioned on this site. All trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
What we keep
SnapDown is not an archive of social media. Media is fetched from the source platform when you ask for it and delivered to your device. Some files are cached for up to 2 days so repeat downloads are faster, then deleted automatically. Posts you save to your library are kept as a copy for you. If content is removed from the source platform and you have not saved it, it cannot be retrieved through SnapDown. Our privacy policy explains exactly what we store.
Service provided "as is"
SnapDown is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. Platforms change frequently, and we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or compatibility. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SnapDown is not liable for any damages arising from the use, or inability to use, this service.
