SnapDown does not host any content

SnapDown is a browser-based tool that lets users save publicly available media from social platforms for personal, offline use. We do not host, store, index, or distribute any media files on our servers. All processing happens transiently at the moment a user requests a download, and nothing is retained afterwards. The content itself remains hosted by the originating platform (for example Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube), and removing it from that platform automatically makes it unavailable through SnapDown.

Filing a DMCA takedown notice

If you believe your copyrighted work is being infringed through the use of our service, you may send us a takedown notice. Under 17 U.S.C. Β§ 512(c)(3), your notice must include:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with enough information for us to locate it (the original post URL on the source platform).
  • Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

Where to send it

Email your notice to snapdown.contact@gmail.com with the subject line "DMCA Takedown Notice", or submit it through our contact form. We review every valid notice and respond within 48–72 hours on business days.

Counter-notification

If you believe material was identified in error, you may submit a counter-notification containing your contact information, identification of the material and its location before removal, a statement under penalty of perjury that the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of your local federal court. We will forward valid counter-notifications to the original complainant.

Repeat infringers

SnapDown does not require accounts and does not store user download history, but where we can identify repeated abusive use targeting the same copyrighted works, we will block the associated requests and cooperate with lawful requests from rights holders.

Your responsibility as a user

Downloaded content is for personal, private use only. Re-uploading, republishing, or commercially exploiting someone else's content without permission may violate copyright law and the source platform's terms of service. Always credit creators and obtain permission before reusing their work. See our disclaimer for details.
